September 08
Cadet Swimming Gala
On the 6th of September 2008, 2520 sqn competed in the Kent Wing swimming competition. Out of about 25 sqns from Kent, Tonbridge celebrated coming 3rd overall. Altogether we won 1 Gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. Cadet Kerr (female) won the Gold in Butterfly, Silver in medley and a Bronze in frontcrawl. Sgt Richards gave us a second Bronze in Butterfly and Cpl Noble the 3rd bronze in Medley. Many other cadets came top 3 in their heats. Really well done to these cadets and to everyone who participated in this event. This is a huge achievement and really well deserved!
October 08
Pentathlon
2520 sqn celebrate coming third in the wing penthalon on 17th 18th and 19th of October 2008. The event consisted of 5 events, including:
- First Aid
- Initiative Exercise
- Shooting(22. rifle junior. L98 rifle Senior.)
- Navigation Exercise
- Obsticle Course
The team did exceptionally well and showed teamwork and confidence throughout the whole weekend.

2520 Cadets Remember Veterans
On November 8th and 9th, 2520 cadets remembered the veterans who died in the great World Wars. On the Saturday, cadets helped collect money for the famous poppy appeal. On the Sunday cadets from youth organisations gathered at the war memorial in Tonbridge for a church service followed by a march past then a church service. The large turnout and neatness of Tonbridge Air Cadets was noticed by Councillor Chris Smith, Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, and many
other people from tonbridge as they gathered to rememeber those who lost their lives.

Tonbridge Celebrates another successful year
On the 9th December cadets came together at the local chapel to celebrate another successful year of cadets. The lady Chairman of The Royal British Legion gave a short speech on the Legion and the womens section of the legion this was followed by A short service and presentation of awards.The night was a great success and saw Cadet Nichols win the "Best Cadet" award (see right) and also Sergeant Richards Winning the "Best NCO" award. "Most Imporved Cadet" was awarded to Cadet Brooks and "The Fellowship Award" was awarded to CPl Brooker. Congratulatiions.
Also Tonbridge Welcomes two new cadets: Brooks and Palmer: who were enrolled and are now a true member into the ATC. As well as this Cadets: Frazer Kerr, Ben Epstein, Rhys Powell, Olly Brooks and Chloe Palmer were awarded their first class badges showing they have completed the primary part of the ATC syllabus (see left). Well Done.
New Intake 2009
On 6th January 2009, 2520 sets a date to welcome the new cadets to the Squadron. It is not to late to come along and join and is open to all from ages 13-17.
Tonbridge Squadron is ever growing and looks to achieve a total of about 30 cadets or more.
